IALIC Scholarship opportunity

The International Association for Language and Intercultural Communication (IALIC) is committed to making its conferences accessible to all, particularly participants from the Global South (i.e. people from low-income countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Pacific) who are working in IALIC-related fields and do not have the personal or employment means to cover conference costs
If you are an ‘early career’ researcher or doctoral student and you would like to present your research at the IALIC conference in Valencia University in 2019, IALIC would like to support your participation in the form of a scholarship.

Scholarship details
Scholarships will include:
  • Conference fees
  • Accommodation for a maximum of 4 days in budget hotel/university hall of residence

Selection criteria
Elegibility criteria

  • Priority will be given to young researchers/advocates/students who are working, studying or volunteering in IALIC related research fields in the Global South with limited financial resources.
  • Only candidates whose abstracts have been selected for the conference are eligible.
Acceptance of an abstract does not imply automatic funding for the applicant. Thus, participants are strongly urged to seek other sources of funds when applying through IALIC.
  • Only the submitting author will be considered as presenting author and will be eligible for scholarship support. If the work is co-authored, a lead-author must be selected in advance, who will make the scholarship application on his/her own.
  • The application form must be completed in English and in full. Incomplete applications cannot be considered for a scholarship.
  • As only a limited number of scholarships are available and the demand is high, it is strongly recommended you also seek funding from other sources.
